Nancy Von der Launitz

Nancy began drawing the moment she was able to hold a pencil and by the age of five won best artist at the “Laguna Beach Festival of Arts” for a still life painting of a floral arrangement. It had always been her dream to become an artist and found interest early on in the subject matter of portraits of women.

 

In college she majored in illustration but was then approached to dance professionally for MGM. Jazz and ballet dancing were always her second love and she found this opportunity too good to pass up. It was at this crucial point in her life that Nancy began to develop passion for makeup, experimenting with different looks on herself and other dancers.

 

At the prime of her dance career Nancy felt the calling to resume her studies in art at Long Beach University, where she majored in illustration. During her study she realized that her interest in painting women’s faces could be best expressed through makeup.

 

Since that time Nancy has had an extraordinary career working with dozens of renowned photographers and magazines giving her one of the most extensive portfolios in the industry. She now enjoys the perfect career where she can utilize her love of portrait paining, via the medium of makeup, and her artistic skills in body painting.
